Guppi joined Wretched of the Earth (WOTE) in early 2019 when XR and the climate strikes started grabbing attention. She was seeking a home within the environmental movement that prioritised the lived experience of people of colour and spoke to her vision of climate justice. In May, she helped co-write the open letter to XR and was a lead organiser in Building Our Power, a movement assembly for people of colour and allies to build an understanding of climate justice. Most recently the group delivered a speech at the September Global Climate Strike which she helped co-write.
Wretched of The Earth is a grassroots collective for Indigenous, black, brown and diaspora groups and individuals demanding climate justice and acting in solidarity with our communities, both here in the UK and in Global South
